Doniphan West Elementary students earn attendance awards. Great job Mustangs!
The elementary students enjoyed watching the SpongeBob Musical at HCC today.
Update: Tree limbs caused fuses to blow at the power line on the east end of the playground. Evergy is on their way to fix the issue. Hopefully we will be up and running with electricity soon. The students are actually enjoying not having power.
The power is out at the elementary school due to a downed line. All students are safe, and learning is continuing as planned. Buses will run at their normal times.
Phone lines at the elementary school are also down. If you need assistance, please call the high school at 785-442-3286, and we will relay messages to the elementary staff.
The BOOK BLAST program by Books Are Fun kicks off on April 1st! Students will receive all the details that day.
Ask your students if they remember last year’s prizes—three individual rewards for submitting 10 emails, treasure chests for four students, an iPad, and free books for everyone at the end. This year’s prizes are different, and the staff can’t wait to see the excitement on the students' faces!

It is Sub-State Semifinal Week! Doniphan West Lady Mustangs will host the Jackson Heights Cobras tonight at Doniphan West Jr./Sr. High School. Tip-off will be at 7:00 pm, gates will open at 6:00 pm. Good Luck, Mustangs!!
Wear Purple on Thursday, March 6th for Bryce's Birthday! She has been at Children's Mercy battling almost a month of Influenza A and E.coli. We are ready for her to feel better and return home!

Kindergarten Court is in Session!
Our kindergarteners had a fantastic morning stepping into the courtroom for The Case of the Slimy, Smelly Birthday Cake! A huge thank you to Judge Kelly and the Doniphan County Courthouse for giving our students a hands-on lesson about the justice system. They had a blast learning about courtroom roles and procedures—but the mystery remains… Who really put worms on County Attorney Baskins’ birthday cake? We may never know!

The Doniphan Co. Spelling Bee, originally scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for tomorrow (2/20). The start time has been changed to 4:00 p.m., and the event will now take place at Riverside's East Campus in Elwood.
