The Junior High KAY Club members enthusiastically participated in their first Service Project of the year. With a generous fleece donation from Robyn Johnson, the students created "Tie Blankets" to contribute to the Doniphan County Community Baby Shower. This event supports expecting families and infants up to 6 months old in the community. It's heartwarming to see our students actively engaged in helping others and demonstrating their compassion and community spirit..

Sparks are flying!
Under the guidance of instructor Tom Davis, DWHS Agriculture Mechanics students are getting their hands dirty and gaining skills in welding, grinding metal, using a plasma cutter, and overhauling a Chevy 454 big block engine.
The Doniphan West Music Department would like to announce the kickoff of the 2024/2025 Musician of the Month by recognizing the following students for the month of September.
Kindergarten Music-Lillian Thomas Lillian has been an outstanding student in music class. She always gives her best effort and is always on task. She is also the first Kindergartener to memorize the Kansas State Song and sing it for the entire class, solo.
1st Grade Music-Bentley Weis Bentley is a hard worker, always doing his best and following directions. He makes smart choices and is a good leader in the classroom. In music class, he always sings, dances, and works hard to stay on beat and learn his parts. He is someone that his classmates can look up to.
2nd Grade Music-Leela Winters Leela is one, who always works hard, in music class. She is not afraid to be herself and sing or dance to the music. She is also not afraid to ask questions to grow her understanding of music.
3rd Grade Music-Max Johnson Max is a fun kid to have in class. He works hard and uses his time to make the most of it. He is very attentive and he often thanks his teachers for their lessons.
4th Grade Music-Natalie Zent Natalie is a great kid to have in class. She follows directions and works hard to gain a better understanding. She is focused and has worked hard to be a responsible student.
5th Grade Music-Adym Jolly Adym is a respectful and hard-working student. She always follow the directions and does the best that she can to learn the material presented.
6th Grade Music-Allie Rawles Allie is a great student who focuses and works hard every day. She is becoming more of a leader by doing what she knows is right and always trying to do her best.
6th Grade Band-Rohen Otte Rohen is new this year and is learning to play the saxophone. She uses her time wisely to get caught up to the rest of her class. She uses each day to gain the knowledge needed to make these improvements she needs and I have not once heard her complain about how hard it is.
7th/8th Band-Mahayla Labrozzi Mahayla is a great student with a great work ethic. She helps her classmates learn their instruments and is always organized and focused. She is dedicated to learning her instrument and learning more about music.
High School Band-Jaelynn Clary Jaelynn is constantly working hard. This year she has stepped up and out of her comfort zone. There is a smaller number in the percussion section and she is having to cover more parts, and often times, cover parts alone. She is always doing what she is supposed to do and is up for any challenge when asked to do new things.
7th-12th Choir-A.J. Hoffman A.J. is a hard worker and is always ready to sing. Even on new songs, she is not afraid to step up and try to sing them. Her classmates say that it helps them to have more confidence knowing that she is right there with them. Congratulations to all!
