When asked what they enjoyed most about Scholars Bowl, one student shared, “I didn’t know as much as I do now!” Others said the snacks were the best part of the day!
Congratulations to this group of young learners and leaders representing Doniphan West so well!

The Doniphan West Music Department recently took a trip to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. Music students from 5th to 12th grade were in attendance, as well as students who were interested in taking a tour of the University.
The students were given a short tour of the campus and had the opportunity to see the Bearcat Stadium, Student Union, and a sample dorm room. The students were given information on the many opportunities to participate in a performance group at Northwest. These opportunities include Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and Choir. They were also given information on the possibilities of receiving music-related scholarships.
The students were then treated to a performance by the Northwest Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Bill Richardson.

This morning at Doniphan West Jr./Sr. High School, in coordination with the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department, Highland Police Department, and the Kansas Highway Patrol K-9 Unit, a walkthrough of the building and parking lot was conducted. We followed our “Lock-In” procedures, with students remaining in their classrooms and continuing classwork as normal.
The walkthrough lasted approximately 30 minutes, after which the Lock-In was lifted. School safety continues to be our top priority.
