In this season of reflection and gratitude, we want to take a moment to simply and sincerely say “Thank You!” for everything the DWest community has done, is doing, and will continue to do to support our students, staff, and schools.
We hope that everyone has a safe, fun, fulfilling, and restful break.
There will be no school Wednesday Nov. 26 through Monday Dec. 1st.

🦃✨ Turkey Disguises on the Loose! ✨🦃
Our 5th and 6th-graders got extra clever this Thanksgiving! After reading Turkey Trouble, they cooked up creative plans to help their turkeys avoid becoming dinner. Congratulations to our winners:
Boone Clary-5th Jacobsen

Hadi Idol-6th Moore
Andrew McCauley-6th Daniels

The Junior High STEAM class has been hard at work designing and building race tracks for local daycares. As part of their assignment, students were challenged to create a toy that all children could enjoy. Throughout the project, they combined creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to bring their ideas to life.
The tracks reflected a wide range of imaginative themes, including 101 Dalmatians, Paw Patrol, Jurassic Park, Blue’s Clues, and even a helicopter landing pad complete with a student-made helicopter. Each design showcased not just artistic flair, but also thoughtful planning and engineering skills.
“I think smiles were made that day—both for the children for whom the tracks were made and the students who created them,” said Ms. Allen.

Everyone is aware of the current high cost of beef. It's a lot to ask one farmer, rancher or individual to donate an entire animal. It's more within reach for a group - businesses, families, etc - to pool their resources and buy an animal from a producer. That beef could be donated to USD 111 and we would have it processed for use in our school meals. Local beef for our students!
