The 2026 Doniphan West Football schedule is here! Mark your calendars and come out to support the Mustangs this fall. We’re excited to get back under the lights and represent Doniphan West. Let’s pack the track and make it a great season! Go Mustangs!

Dear Doniphan West Family,
We are writing with good news following last night’s school board meeting. We are pleased to share that Dr. Steve Pegram has agreed to serve one year as interim superintendent, effective immediately, July 1, 2026.
Dr. Pegram is an accomplished leader with more than 40 years of experience serving Kansas public schools. As a board, we are confident that everyone in our district will benefit from his focus on collaboration and steady leadership in times of transition.
Late this fall, the board will open a search late to permanently fill the superintendent role next spring. We look forward to sharing more details as the process begins, including opportunities for families, staff and other community members to participate. Your feedback will be essential in our work to select the next leader for Doniphan West.
Most importantly, thank you once again for trusting Doniphan West with your student’s learning. If you have any questions or concerns about how this change affects your student, don’t hesitate to contact their principal (in August) or the district office. Our team is always here to help.
Sincerely,
Michelle Meyer

Dear Doniphan West Family,
As shared last week, there will be a change in the role of superintendent this summer, following the resignation of Ms. Ball this week and conclusion of the current interim contract on June 30. Today we are writing to share an update on the board’s next steps to fill this vacancy.
Right now, finding the next leader for our district is the highest priority for the board members. We are committed to a smooth transition for our staff and their families and a great start to the 2026-2027 school year ahead. We aim to hire a leader who can bring stability and focus on our mission to serve the entire Doniphan West learning community.
The board is exceedingly proud to be part of Doniphan West — and steadfast in our belief that the best for our district is yet to come. Our future will be even brighter when we come together around our shared purpose of preparing every student for the future and making this community a place where kids thrive and neighbors take care of one another.
Please enjoy a safe and relaxing summer break. We look forward to sharing more news about district leadership in the weeks ahead, and we are even more excited to welcome our students and staff back to school in August.
Sincerely,
Michelle Meyer
