As shared last week, there will be a change in the role of superintendent this summer, following the resignation of Ms. Ball this week and conclusion of the current interim contract on June 30. Today we are writing to share an update on the board’s next steps to fill this vacancy.
Right now, finding the next leader for our district is the highest priority for the board members. We are committed to a smooth transition for our staff and their families and a great start to the 2026-2027 school year ahead. We aim to hire a leader who can bring stability and focus on our mission to serve the entire Doniphan West learning community.
The board is exceedingly proud to be part of Doniphan West — and steadfast in our belief that the best for our district is yet to come. Our future will be even brighter when we come together around our shared purpose of preparing every student for the future and making this community a place where kids thrive and neighbors take care of one another.
Please enjoy a safe and relaxing summer break. We look forward to sharing more news about district leadership in the weeks ahead, and we are even more excited to welcome our students and staff back to school in August.
Sincerely,
Michelle Meyer
