2nd Grade Fun Day at the K ⚾️💙
Doniphan West 2nd Grade students had an exciting, fun-filled Day at the K as they cheered on the Kansas City Royals against the Cleveland Guardians! Even though the Royals didn’t come away with the win, the students had an unforgettable time enjoying the game, the ballpark atmosphere, and all the excitement of baseball. A couple of lucky students even got to take home a baseball tossed to them from the bullpen—what an amazing surprise! It was a day full of smiles, cheers, and wonderful memories at the ballpark!

A heartfelt thank you, not only today but every day, to our amazing school nurses for the care, compassion, and dedication you show to our students, staff, and families. Your kindness, patience, and support help create a safe and healthy environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. From comforting students when they are not feeling well to offering encouragement and reassurance, your impact reaches far beyond the nurse’s office. We are truly grateful for the countless ways you serve our school community with such heart and professionalism. Thank you for making a difference every day!

Smith, Scenes in Stained Glass Windows by Jordan Sawyer, A Jubilant Spirit by Carol Brittin Chambers, and Pirates of the Barbary Coast arranged by Timothy Loest. Their performance set the tone for a lively and entertaining night.

Laila Chambers – Clarinet – The Lonely Birch
Layla Kuhnert – Baritone Saxophone – Variations on a Theme by Schumann
The High School Band followed with a wonderful selection of pieces, beginning with Majestica, arranged by Brian Balmages, followed by Childhood Hymn by William Bradbury, arranged by David Holsinger. They then performed the beloved 1975 classic Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, written by Freddie Mercury and arranged by Paul Murtha. The final instrumental piece of the evening was Deep Pockets by Brad Ciechomski.
For this special performance, guest musicians joined the band, including Doniphan West Elementary 6th grader Andrew McCauley, local musician David Reiter, and 8th grader Mahyla Labrozzi, adding even more excitement to the evening.
Guests also enjoyed viewing artwork created by students in grades 7–12, making the event a true celebration of the fine arts. From beautiful music to impressive visual art displays, Fine Arts Night was an enjoyable and memorable evening for all who attended.
