On Friday, February 10th, DWHS KAY Club students helped at the DWES "Punt, Pass, Kick" competition for a Chiefs Spirit Week celebration. The high school students taught the elementary students how to play the games and cheered them on as they competed. What a fun afternoon!

Horticulture students toured Lettuce Dream today! The greenhouse focuses on hydroponics production of lettuce and serving the differently abled community through job experience and placement. Thanks to our wonderful tour guide! What a great place to learn and grow!

The National School Counseling Week is being celebrated this week. Elementary students donated a quarter to help purchase a gift for our Social Worker, Mr. Peterson. He sat in his new chair beside his cooler of snacks during morning bus duty. Students helped decorate his door with thoughtful comments and a dinner was provided by the staff. We love Mr. Peterson! 
Today the HS Physical Science students performed their Egg Drop Experiments. The students were tasked with creating a device around an egg that would protect it from cracking when dropped from the roof. Some used air resistance to help them, and some built protective coverings.

We had a group of our students attend the Junior/Senior Visit Day at HCC on Friday, Feb. 3. They took a tour of campus and visited with HCC faculty who offered scholarships to each of them.
