The Kansas CTE (Career Technical Education) Conference Planning Committee offered a monetary award for the top three submissions for their logo development competition this year to advertise the upcoming annual conference.
Students across the state designed a logo, informational sheet, and flyer. Five D-West students participated as an assignment for their Applied Business Applications course taught by Jodi Leatherman. After a digital interview, the top three winners were announced and posted online.
Taygen Reno, a junior at Doniphan West High School won first place and earned $300. Taygen said, "I dreaded this assignment every day when we had to do it and was very surprised that I won, so I'm glad I finished it ."
Jamie Manhart, Career and Technology Education Coordinator for Greenbush described the purpose of this competition as, "we felt like Career and Technology Education is all about real-world experiences, we felt like we could "practice what we preach" and include a real-world opportunity for Kansas students."
