Each year, juniors and seniors submit applications for the Kansas Masonic Essay Contest. This year, Smithton Lodge No. 1 in Highland awarded three scholarships to the top three essay writers from Doniphan West High School.
First place - Malaina Whetstine, senior
Second place - Adakis Moppin, senior
Third place - Kyra Foland, senior
