Koder Saunders, a 6th grader, was nominated by the teachers and staff of Doniphan West for the Kansas Masonic Foundation Exemplary Student Award.

Teachers and staff consistently recognize him as an outstanding student who exemplifies strong character, kindness, and an exceptional work ethic. Koder is respectful, dependable, and serves as a positive role model both in the classroom and among his peers. His dedication to learning, creativity, and commitment to doing the right thing truly set him apart.

What stands out most is Koder’s resilience. Even in the face of significant personal loss, he continues to show up each day with positivity, determination, and grace. He remains kind, supportive, and encouraging to others, making a meaningful impact on those around him. Koder is a compassionate, hardworking, and inspiring individual who is truly deserving of recognition.

Mr. Lackey, who was nominated by staff, is consistently described as an exceptionally dedicated and hardworking leader who goes above and beyond for his school. He invests countless hours, takes on additional responsibilities, and ensures the building runs smoothly while maintaining a positive and welcoming presence for staff, students, and the community.

He is widely recognized for his strong leadership, professionalism, and genuine care for others. Colleagues highlight his collaborative approach, open communication, fairness, and ability to foster a supportive, team-oriented environment where individuals feel heard and valued.

Beyond his daily responsibilities, Mr. Lackey is deeply involved in extracurricular and community activities, demonstrating a strong commitment to student success both inside and outside the classroom.
