Our 5th graders had an unforgettable day of history and adventure. The trip started with an amazing visit to the Steamboat Arabia Museum, where they learned about the fascinating story of a steamboat that sank in the Missouri River over 150 years ago! They explored incredible artifacts and got a glimpse into life from the past.
After that, they made their way to Union Station, taking in its stunning architecture and learning about its rich history. The highlight? Walking across the “sky bridges” (as they called them) and soaking in the adventure!
It was a day packed with fun, learning, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Elementary Retake Picture Day is 11/19/2024!
If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 87006HF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.

Today, DWES students got to take part in a school-wide Election Day! Each student received a personalized D-West Voter Registration Card with their name and picture, which they signed to serve as their official ID. With their ID in hand, they headed to the voting booth, received a ballot, and cast their votes just like in a real election. After voting, they dropped their ballots in the ballot box and proudly received their "I Voted" sticker! Stay tuned for the results, which will be announced tomorrow once all votes are counted!
Unfortunately, the Kickball Tournament, which was scheduled for November 9th, has been canceled due to a lack of teams signing up to participate.

The Community Donation Winner is Juliet Trachsel with her Hedgehog pumpkin. The Board Of Education Winner is Emma Scholz with her Spooky Graveyard pumpkin. Thank you Board Members , Michelle Meyer, Brett Miner, Tana Snyder, Zach Lee and Brad McCauley for coming to our celebration and selecting a pumpkin.
