Youth Art Month!

Congratulations to Morgan McCauley (5th Grade)  and Aliza Tracy(7th Grade) for being selected to represent Doniphan West Schools in the Kansas Youth Art Month exhibition!   Morgan was awarded second place in the elementary category and received a ribbon and a prize package!   The Youth Art Month exhibition was on display at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library through March 25th.  Both students' work was on display in the show and we are so proud of their accomplishments!

Youth Art Month is celebrated annually in March to recognize and showcase the importance of art education and the creative achievements of young people across the United States.  The goals of Youth Art Month are to promote art education as a  vital part of a child's education, to emphasize the value of art and creativity in developing critical thinking skills, and to encourage public support for quality art programs in schools.  The month-long celebration provides an opportunity to showcase the artistic talents of young people and to recognize the important role that art education plays in their lives and in society as a whole.
