July 2022, brings a new leadership face to Doniphan West. Dr. Volora Hanzlicek has taken the reins as our superintendent. She comes with 21 years of district office experience and 33 years of experience in education. Her career has included teaching, coaching, consulting, and many leadership roles including Superintendent. A unique thing about Hanzlicek, she started her administrative career our the district 25 years ago July 2022.
Dr. Hanzlicek has been married to Matthew for 33 years. They have two married daughters. Akaylah Jaeke and Erik reside in Wisconsin with two granddaughters. Alaina Hickman and William reside in California with a grandson. Family (including her work family) is important to her. She comments, “I am blessed to be part of the Doniphan West family. I am looking forward to leading the district as we enhance the already awesome education that is being provided.”
Working part-time, Dr. Hanzlicek will be in the office on a typical week Monday through Wednesday. However, if you would like to visit with her you might make an appointment with Amy Lackey, alackey@usd111.org, to see her as she flexes her schedule at times to accommodate local and state meetings.
